Subject: Matt Honson's accident

Hi everyone! This blog entry is different than most. I don't often post personal info. here but these people are close to us & are former clients of mine. Please take the time to read this. Don't feel like you are obligated to take any action unless you feel like it is something you can do. Thanks for taking your time & feel free to pass this along if you feel the desire too. Kiss your loved ones asap! ~Blessings~

I have some urgent news to share with you. A dear friend of ours has hurt himself badly. He broke his neck & crack his head open while hiking in China. He & his wife left in september to teach english for the year. I have information enclosed about his current situation. They are in desperate need to raise money so they can fly Matt at a specific altitute so he can get westernized medical care in Hong Kong. If you would pray for his family & possibly consider donating money so they can be with their child. Who knows how much their medical bills alone will cost but we do know it will cost $6,000 just to fly Matt to Hong Kong. Thank you so much!

I am posting a few pics of Matt & Norah. I was lucky they asked me to capture their engagement pictures two summers ago. I love this couple!!! They are fun, amazing, compassionate, loving people who give their time and lives to others (if you can't tell by their destination to china). Danny was pretty close to Matt. They were on a worship team together in college, then lived in the same house post college until they both got married (within a week of each other). We became neighbors in the same apartment complex last year & had some great memories with them! When we heard they were going to be gone in China for a whole year we were excited for their journey and yet sad to see them go. We miss them so much and think of them often.

My heart breaks for Norah. I can't imagine the pain she is in. I also can't imagine what his parents are going through. I think about something like this happening to my baby or husband! It would be a nightmare. Keep them in your prayers please!

If you want to help his family out refer to this link:

How to help:

If you have a PayPal account, the easiest way on my side is to go to

http://supportthehonsons.chipin.com/matthew-honson

And follow the chipin link. If you prefer to do a wire transfer. I can get you the account # and routing #. If neither of these work, you could send me a physical check and I could deposit it for you, and I would be happy to do that for you. Make it out to Nora Honson.

Here's an email from a friend of Matt's about how it all happened & his current status.

Subject: Matt Honson's accident

I had a conversation with Matt's brother Mike this morning (1/22). He filled me in on some details of Matt's accident and condition. I thought that it would be good to make sure that everyone is on the same page.

Yesterday, 1/21, Matt Honson and a friend found themselves in a rush to get down a mountain in China. To speed things up, they decided to slide down a gravel patch, his foot caught and fell face first into a 25 foot ravine. Matt landed on his forehead which gave him a split from his eyebrow to back of his head and a broken neck. Some local farmers pulled him out of the ravine with donkeys and transported him via donkey to help. I do not know the details from the back of the donkey to the doctors stopping his hemorrhage. He has pressure on his spine and they need to get him to the nearest westernized hospital to perform surgery. His spine is obviously not severed because he can wiggle his fingers and toes, but the spine pressure is a very scary thing, especially in transit. Tanner mentioned that when Matt is conscious, he spatters a few spontaneous comments then falls back to unconsciousness. This made me smile because that is Matt being our Matt.
The consulate called his parents and 80k is needed to fly him at a low altitude (to not escalate the spine pressure) to Hong Kong. Matt's parents are in Chicago getting a passport and trying to schedule a flight. Mike is back in Rockford trying to raise enough money to get Matt to Hong Kong.

Lets continue to pray for supernatural healing in Matt's body. Pray for Nora and the rest of Matt's family during these trying days. Pray that all the complications surrounding his transit to Hong Kong be quickly overcome. I am praying that every person involved in this situation has an attentive ear to the "Christ I trust everything to".

Vote on a TUTU!

I need your help! I can't decide on a couple tutu's for baby sessions & toddler sessions. I am ordering petty skirts for 3-8 size as well. I'll show those to you later. But I thought it would be helpful to get your opinions first on colors!

I am torn between red & pink tutus because it would be fun to have red ones just in case you wanted to use it for a christmas card, valentines day or if your little one prefers red! But, I know most little girls LOVE pink! One also has a combo of pastel colors. Anyways... please help me decide! I found these tutus on etsy- a fabulous site!

(Voting takes place to the right of this post!)

Tutu # 1

Tutu # 2

Tutu # 3

Thanks!!!

Flower, Baby & a Bucket

For the new year I have a few goals in mind. One of them is to be more creative. I LOOOOVE Anne Geddes. I always have since junior high school when I discovered her baby scenes. My favorite series of hers is when she dresses them up as either characters or flowers. So I decided I wanted to make my very own flower baby with my baby Josiah.

One thing I for sure learned in art school is that you have to have an inspiration. All art is spun off of someone elses work. That doesn't mean you totally copy (almost every photographer out there tries something someone else did. That's kinda how we learn). Hopefully through my inspirations I'll find my own unique style. =D Ultimately, I want my clients to be so satisfied & the end results a work of art that they can't get anywhere else. THat's my goal for 2009. Create pricesless works of art!

Here's a little taste. There are many more ideas still in the works. EnjoY!

Josiah didn't really like my idea as you will see. He liked eating the bucket for a while then got bored... hehe. But we got some cute & funny ones. I put together a couple collages. I'd like to print one as a canvas. Which one? HELP!

New Song!!

First, Happy New Year!!!! What an exciting year we have ahead of us. I have many new & fun programs, collages & albums to share with you soon. Keep checking my blog for updates!

I am so excited to announce to you there is a beautiful new song accompanying my portraits website. It was written by my husband's mother, Becki Warnock. She is such a talented musician & lyric writer! To make this song even more special, twenty five years ago, when Danny was a little baby, Becki wrote this song to for his baby dedication. It is such an amazing song that I just had to ask such a huge favor for her to record it to use on my website. I had spent countless hours searching for that perfect song to narrate my photos & I was very disapointed because nothing was fitting. It took many months of searching on the internet to realize that I had the perfect song a mother-in-law away! Thank you so much Becki for sharing your special song. I am so grateful!! You can visit my portraits website & experience this beautiful song at:

I also want to share with you some images of my niece & son. The first collage was a gift to my parents for Christmas. They LOOOVED it! But its hard not to with such cuties to look at!
